Immaculate Conception School offers various clubs for our students. These opportunities provide our students with the sense of community and achievement. Each club receives full support of our ICS faculty/staff and is a wonderful way to build friendships, stay healthy and serve others. Clubs either meet before or after school.
Our PreK - 2nd grade students will enjoy imaginative and creative play (outdoor activities, arts and crafts) with complete Spanish immersion. Students will also work on Spanish language skills (nursery rhymes, songs and seasonal verses). Mi Escuelita en Espanol will meet with Mrs. Mendoza on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 3:45pm.

We are excited to introduce our Creative Me Club this spring! Our 1st-3rd Grade students will participate in various activities that highlight their many creative talents. Examples of some activities include no bake recipes, theatre skills, planting/gardening, arts and crafts and community service. Our Creative Me Club will meet with Mrs. VanDoren on Monday afternoons from 3:00 - 3:45pm beginning the week of March 2nd.

This is a 10-week session of Creative Drama that ends with a mini showcase for parents! This after school drama class includes a wide range of creative and fun activities. Drama Kids teachers are specifically trained to use acting training in a way that encourages students to be themselves while aiding in the development of leadership, communication skills, and creative thinking. Learn fundamentals like projection, articulation, dramatic movement and improvisation. Engage in imaginative character building and active group scene work. It has a total tuition fee of $220 for the whole session. The showcase, which will include short scenes, improv & speech activity demonstration will be May 21st!
Creative Drama will meet on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00pm beginning the week of March 2nd. There is no class on April 2 & 9 due to school closure.The full cost for the session is $220

Our 3rd and 4th grade students will have a chance to explore famous artists and develop their own style of art using school materials. Art Club will meet with Mrs. Wagner on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00pm beginning the week of March 2nd.

Members of the Lego Masters Club will enjoy weekly challenge builds along with some friendly competition. This club is sure to inspire creativity, encourage problem-solving and facilitate team building! Lego Masters will meet with Mrs. Proctor on Thursday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00pm beginning the week of March 2nd.

Students from grades 3-8 with an understanding of the rules of chess and how to move the pieces are invited to join.
Our Chess team will meet with Mr. Dewelde on Tuesday afternoons from 3:00 - 4:00pm. Chess Team will begin the week of March 2nd.

More about Mr. Dewelde:
Mr. Dewelde learned the game of chess at a young age, and has been playing competitively since high school. He was one of the top 5 Players in the New Jersey his senior year. He has coached the chess team at his alma mater (St. Joseph HS in Metuchen) since 2010. He has also coached the team at St. Matthias Elementary School (Somerset). He lives in Hillsborough with his wife Christine, his daughter Reagan and son Ethan. Both Reagan and Ethan are students at ICS.
The ICS Running Club is available to our 4th-8th grade students. Members will be provided with a fun and safe environment while learning the fundamentals of running. Basic running techniques, skills and strategies will be covered.
Running Club is scheduled to meet with Ms. Canavan on Monday and Thursday afternoons (3:00 - 4:15pm) beginning Thursday, April 16.

We are excited to begin our Newspaper Club, designed for 7th-8th graders! Our ICS Newspaper Club, featuring THE SPARTAN SPIRIT, will give students an opportunity to develop their journalism skills, creativity, thought leadership, and teamwork. Students will report on school happenings, express their ideas, and work collaboratively to create a rewarding end-product to be shared with fellow students and school families alike.
As members of The Spartan Spirit Staff, students will be tasked with participating in regularly scheduled meetings, while also investing time on their own that contributes to the finished product. Students will also learn about all the areas of publication: research and interviewing, story writing, proofreading, meeting deadlines, promotion and communication. Our goal is to increase school spirit by building excitement around our school newspaper.
Newspaper Club will meet after school from 3:00-3:45pm on Mondays, and select mornings (7:30-8:00), as needed. Afternoon dates are listed below:

As members of the Yearbook Club, 8th grade students will be tasked with taking pictures at
school events and organizing them in a way that best fits the book layout. Editors
will delegate individuals to complete different sections of the yearbook.
